Apple Turns Publisher - Apple's transformation into a media conglomerate gains another stage. Texture as a part of News makes sense. Making The Web Truly Global - Tim Berners-Lee isn't shy about speaking out. He makes some solid points about the consolidation of the internet into the domain of just a few companies. He's also pushing to help spread access to the Internet and making it more affordable. It's nice to see a techno-utopian who isn't doing it to shill a product.
The New I Don't Own A TV - In a stunning combination of smugness and stupidity, the NYT tech journalist writes a long think piece about "unplugging" despite the fact he could be easily fact-checked publicly. Captain Emo And The Avengers - Movies With Mikey runs down why the Marvel Universe works. It's simpler than you think, but something the other studios refuse to replicate. He highlights some rather high profile failures to replicate the model.
More AI Chimera Work - AI as a supplement for existing work seems to be the most prominent application currently. In The Pipeline analyzes a paper where an AI was used to predict efficacy of pharmaceutical compounds.
