Learning Sound Science
We live in a world of produced sound. Some of it ambient: generated by cars, machines, and other passing noises of everyday life. We're also surrounded by sounds conveying information, whether it's music or dialog on the television. The science of generative sound is something that I can take for granted sometimes. Bartosz Ciechanowski has a long read that works as an excellent primer on the science of sound. The various examples include interactive models that help build a better picture of what's actually going on when sounds are generated. An excellent demonstration of how interactive content can reinforce basic concepts.
