Cue The Alarmists - By now most people have shared their terrible take on this sad event, ranging from a condemnation of Uber to out and out calls for a ban on self-driving cars. Considering the state of discourse and news in our society, I assume that most of this will be forgotten by the time Uber releases what actually happened.
Going Out In Style - Hawking leaves behind a paper that proposes a method for detecting the existence of parallel universes. Even if it turns out that we cannot find any evidence, it does break the logjam that most of current physics is not testable via experimentation.
The Revolution Will Be Clicky - In what seems to be a pushback against fabric and almost zero travel keyboards that have dominated the tablet and 2 in 1 market, mechanical keyboards are making a comeback. (Linked throughout the article today are some of my favorites, though Amazon doesn't sell the Vortex Race 3 anymore.)
The Sucker Test - Well that probably would have gotten more respondents than the STP-II test. Or Susceptibility to Prusuasian. Curious about how much your opinion can be swayed? The linked test from the study can give you a good breakdown of your answers and how they make you more or less susceptible to persuasion.
Screenwriting Apps That Aren't Final Draft - I am always interested in specialized applications and how soon they become a rent-seeking proposition for market leaders. Photoshop is a great example, but so is Final Draft. Julian Simpson runs down some cheaper and more accessible alternatives you can try.
A Reading By The American Bodhisattva - Bill Murray reads a poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti set to Cello on an Austin street corner.
