What Came First? The Bullshit Or The Laugh Track - In an attempt to ensure that we never have to encounter an original idea again, Disney wants to reboot High Fidelity. Instead of a movie about learning that nostalgia is bullshit, the past is never how we remember it, fear of commitment is just fear of rejection, and making everyone want to work in a record store, we’re promised a light-hearted sitcom about a record store owner remembering past relationships. The worst thing about getting old is watching people who didn’t get the things you love in the first place try to sell them back to you cynically.

Good Rock Journalism - I was never big into math rock, it fell just a little after my time. I have my sympathies with the style, but I wanted to share this because of the journalism. Music writing has degraded to a mix of snark and TMZ celebrity watching. Telling the story of a scene through one band is a clever way to anchor in humanity, but the writer still gives proper context. Brilliant stuff.
