Pulling back from the firehose isn't a bad thing, but Ellis stumbles on something even more useful here. The idea that we curate our own content means that you have to actually curate it. Twitter and Facebook became terrible because the companies convinced us to give up our agency. You don't have to unfriend the people that aggravate you, but you can mute them. Chose your level of engagement, even if that is unplugging all together.
