Fast Company - It is interesting to see that DND and other features to control notifications were proposed from the very beginning of iOS. It's telling that marketing has enough power to nix a device feature at Apple. On the other hand, it is clear that the design team at Apple is focused on empowering the user, even if the rest of the company is not.
